Welcome to the July-August 2026 of This Is Critical Mass.

As LA Critical Mass continues to grow, we are committed to improving communication with our community. Beginning with this issue, This Is Critical Mass will be published every two months, providing regular updates on organizational initiatives, advocacy efforts, community partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, upcoming events, and developments shaping the future of cycling in Los Angeles.

Over the past two months, our team has been hard at work strengthening the organization, expanding opportunities for cyclists, building new partnerships, and preparing for an exciting future while remaining committed to the monthly ride that has brought our community together for decades.

Each month, thousands of cyclists and participants continue to gather on the streets of Los Angeles to celebrate community, mobility, and the freedom that comes from exploring our city by bicycle. While our Last Friday ride remains at the heart of everything we do, LA Critical Mass continues to evolve in ways that will strengthen our organization and create new opportunities for our community in the years ahead.

MESSAGE FROM LISA — PRESERVING OUR ROOTS, EXPANDING OUR VISION

Dear LA Critical Mass Community,

The past two months have been a period of planning, growth, and opportunity for our organization.

As we look toward the future, our focus remains firmly rooted in Los Angeles and the cyclists and participants who make this community extraordinary. Every month we are reminded that LA Critical Mass is more than a ride. It is a gathering of people who believe in community, connection, and the power of bicycles to bring people together.

Throughout July and August, we have been working behind the scenes on several initiatives designed to expand opportunities for participation, strengthen partnerships, advance advocacy efforts, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization.

While many exciting developments are underway, our commitment remains unchanged: to create positive experiences for cyclists throughout Los Angeles while preserving the welcoming and inclusive spirit that has defined LA Critical Mass for decades.

As we begin laying the foundation for 2027, we remain focused on growing responsibly, strengthening our community, and ensuring that Los Angeles remains at the center of everything we do.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community.

Planning for 2027 Is Already Underway

Although we are focused on making every ride in 2026 memorable, planning for 2027 has already begun.

Our team has started developing a roster of artists, DJs, musicians, performers, and entertainers for future Main Break events. These performances help transform each gathering into a celebration of Los Angeles culture, creativity, and community.

Beyond entertainment and community programming, we are actively developing new opportunities for cyclists and participants to engage with LA Critical Mass throughout the year.

While our flagship Last Friday of every month ride will always remain the foundation of our organization, we are exploring additional cycling experiences designed to serve a broader range of interests and skill levels while showcasing the many neighborhoods, landmarks, routes, and outdoor destinations that make Los Angeles such a unique place to ride.
