For Los Angeles Critical Mass, Pride is more than a celebration \u2014 it\u2019s a reminder that public space, movement, and community belong to everyone. Cycling has long been intertwined with LGBTQ+ activism, from endurance rides that raise millions for life\u2011saving services to grassroots events that create safe, joyful spaces for queer Angelenos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cycling as Pride: A Legacy of Visibility and Activism<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

There is a deep connection between cycling and LGBTQ+ advocacy. Endurance rides like AIDS\/LifeCycle<\/u><\/a> and its successor, the Center Ride Out<\/u><\/a>, have transformed the simple act of riding a bike into a powerful platform for fundraising, solidarity, and public visibility. In April 2026, the LA LGBT Center\u2019s first\u2011ever Center Ride Out brought hundreds of cyclists together for a three\u2011day, nearly 200\u2011mile journey from Los Angeles to San Diego, raising more than $830,000 for LGBTQ+ healthcare, housing, education, and social services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
