Los Angeles Critical Mass: November Ride to the San Fernando Valley

After more than a decade, Los Angeles Critical Mass returns to the San Fernando Valley for a 26+ mile round trip from Koreatown. We’ll ride through popular tourist attractions and active nightlife spots, with three breaks. This ride is about community, visibility, and joy as we reclaim the streets together.

This Friday, Los Angeles Critical Mass is rolling deep once again — this time heading north into the San Fernando Valley.

This Friday, Los Angeles Critical Mass is rolling deep once again — this time heading north into the San Fernando Valley. Starting from HQ at Western and Wilshire in Koreatown, we’ll take on a 26+ mile round trip route that promises both challenge and camaraderie.

A Historic Return

It’s been well over a decade since Critical Mass last visited the Valley. That makes this month’s ride more than just another route — it’s a historic ride. Together, we’ll roll through some of the Valley’s most popular nightlife and tourist attractions, reclaiming the streets with joy, visibility, and community power.

Why This Ride Matters

Over the past year, we’ve proven what our community can do together. From the ride to SoFi Stadium to the coastal push all the way to Santa Monica, we’ve stacked up miles with flying colors. Each route has been a testament to our endurance, our unity, and our joy in reclaiming the streets.

This month’s Valley ride is no different. In fact, it’s being celebrated as our Champion Ride of 2025 — not just because of the elevation, climbs, and distance, but because it’s the perfect chance to challenge yourself, push your limits, and burn off those Thanksgiving holiday calories. Think of it as a ride that rewards you twice: with the thrill of conquering the Valley and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve powered through the season with strength and community.

This month’s route is called our Champion Ride of 2025 because of the elevation, climbs, and distance — but it’s not about racing or crossing a finish line. It’s about challenging yourself at your own pace, enjoying the ride, and celebrating the strength it takes to show up and pedal with the community. Every rider who joins and embraces this month’s journey earns the spirit and title of a champion, whether they ride the whole route or just part of it.

This month, ride with our masses of participants!

The Route & Breaks

  • Start: Western & Wilshire, Koreatown
  • Destination: San Fernando Valley
  • Distance: 26+ miles round trip
  • Breaks: Three planned stops. No entertainment this month because of this month’s ride route. Restaurants, stores, and food areas will be accessible at the main break.

Along the way, we’ll pause for three ride breaks to recharge, connect, and enjoy the local scene. Snacks and drinks will be available to help everyone stay hydrated and energized for a nominal fee at our lead vehicle. The main break will also feature access to restaurants, stores, and food areas — a chance to refuel and celebrate together. For those who needs a boost of energy, our sponsor Chargel has provided sample gel packs for all those in need.

Easy Options for the Ride Back

We’ll also be riding past Metro hub train and bus stops throughout the route, so if any participants feel too tired to ride back, they’ll have convenient transit options to get home safely.

The Spirit of Critical Mass

Critical Mass has always been more than a ride. It’s a statement: that cycling culture belongs in every corner of Los Angeles. Each pedal stroke is about visibility, community, and joy.

We’ve conquered stadiums, beaches, and boulevards. Now, the Valley awaits.

Support the Movement

Critical Mass is self-supported. To keep the rides strong, safe, and sustainable, we need your help. A donation of $5 to $10 — or whatever you can contribute — goes a long way toward fueling snacks, hydration, and the logistics that make these rides possible.

Every dollar keeps the wheels turning. Click to donate now.

Call to Action

Bring your lights, bring your energy, and bring your voice. Let’s make this Friday’s ride another chapter in the story of Los Angeles Critical Mass — a story written in miles, music, and movement.
