Los Angeles Critical Mass: September 26th, 2025 Ride Recap

Thousands Rode, Climbed, and Celebrated Across Los Angeles. From Koreatown to Boyle Heights, this past September's 2025 Critical Mass honored Hispanic heritage with music, mariachi's, and a powerful climb to Gloria Molina Park—where riders refueled with Chargel and recharged in unity.

A Night of Unity, Heritage, and Motion

On Friday, September 26th, Los Angeles Critical Mass gathered once again to celebrate movement, community, and culture—this time in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

The evening began at our iconic meetup spot in Koreatown, right on Wilshire Blvd and Western, where the energy was palpable and the crowd steadily grew.

Riders gathered for this month’s Los Angeles Critical Mass, where sponsor Chargel helped power the night—dozens of energizing gel packs were handed out as participants geared up for the ride ahead.

By 7:29 PM, the streets were buzzing with anticipation as Lisa, our president, addressed the masses with a message of unity and pride. Moments later, the ride launched south on Western Avenue, weaving through Koreatown’s historic landmarks before turning left onto Pico Boulevard. As we headed toward Downtown Los Angeles, the city came alive—L.A. Live shimmered under the night sky, and tourists paused in awe as thousands of riders streamed past in a glowing procession of lights, music, and exhilaration.

From Olympic Boulevard, we turned onto Broadway, gliding past architectural icons and cultural touchstones until we reached 1st Street. The route then led us through Little Tokyo and onto the legendary 6th Street Bridge, where the skyline framed our celebration of heritage and solidarity.

Our journey continued east into Boyle Heights, culminating at Mariachi Plaza. There, riders were greeted by live Mariachi performances that turned the plaza into a vibrant celebration. After 45 minutes of music and connection, the plaza was alive with song, laughter, and cultural pride. Participants sang along, danced, and embraced the moment—an unforgettable tribute to the spirit of the community.

After the celebration, we made our way back to Downtown via Cesar Chavez Avenue, arriving at Gloria Molina Grand Park. But before the break came the climb.

To reach the park, riders faced a short but steep incline—just a couple of blocks up 1st Street to Grand Avenue. It was a moment of grit and heart. With Jojo on the megaphone, coaching and encouraging the crowd, the climb became a communal push. Slowly but surely, the masses ascended. What a sight: hundreds of riders powering through, cheering each other on, smiling through the burn. That climb wasn’t just cardio—it was a triumph. And when they reached the top, the sense of collective accomplishment was unmistakable. Happy, proud faces everywhere. They made it.

Once at the park, participants rested for a little over an hour—stretching out, catching their breath, and soaking in the atmosphere. Marc Solo’s Spanish Rock set provided the perfect soundtrack for recovery and celebration, while Telemundo captured the moment, documenting the diversity, connection, and unity that define Los Angeles Critical Mass.

During the festivities, Jojo handed out dozens and dozens of sample packs of Chargel to the crowd. Many lined up to experience the refreshing, energizing taste—and they truly enjoyed it. Riders who had pushed through the early miles and those recovering from the climb were fueled and smiling, grateful for the boost. It was a pleasure to see our sponsor Chargel actively supporting the movement, energizing the masses in real time.

From there, the ride took a fresh turn—exploring new corners of Downtown L.A. that had never been part of our route before. These unfamiliar streets offered a renewed sense of discovery and adventure, as we wound our way back toward Koreatown. By the time we returned to our headquarters, the night had transformed into a full-circle celebration of culture, community, and the power of collective movement.

This ride wasn’t just a route—it was a living, breathing tribute to the cultural heartbeat of Los Angeles. Thank you to everyone who rode, climbed, sang, danced, and celebrated with us. We ride together. We rise together.

Much love to Torrance Bikes—one of our dedicated sponsors who not only rides alongside us, but shows up with tools, heart, and real support. Whether it’s a flat tire, a loose chain, or a quick fix on the fly, they’re always ready to help our riders keep rolling. Thank you for being part of the movement and helping us keep the ride strong.
