Lisa Lundie

President

Lisa Lundie is a proud Angeleno and lifelong philanthropist dedicated to promoting cycling, community engagement, and mental wellness in Los Angeles.

Since the mid 2000s, she has been an integral part of Los Angeles Critical Mass (LACM), initially stepping in as a key figure in back-end operations and support vehicle coordination. Her commitment to the cycling community began in her teenage years, where she first discovered the joy and freedom that cycling brings, and this passion has only grown over the years.

With a solid foundation in leadership developed through her extensive experience in the banking industry, Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. This educational background has equipped her with critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which she applies to her work in community initiatives. Throughout her career, Lisa has been deeply engaged in various philanthropic efforts, focusing on improving the lives of others and fostering a sense of community.

A strong advocate for mental wellness, Lisa believes that cycling can play a vital role in promoting mental health. She understands the therapeutic benefits of riding, which not only provides physical exercise but also serves as a form of stress relief and mental clarity. Lisa actively encourages participants to embrace cycling as a way to enhance their mental well-being, emphasizing the importance of self-care and community support.

Lisa’s vision for Los Angeles Critical Mass is rooted in her belief that cycling can be a powerful tool for social change. She is committed to creating an inclusive environment where cyclists of all backgrounds can come together to celebrate their shared love for riding. Under her leadership, LACM aims to advocate for safer cycling infrastructure, ensuring that all riders can enjoy the roads with confidence and security.

In addition to her advocacy work, Lisa emphasizes the importance of sustainability and health within the cycling community. She believes that promoting cycling as an environmentally friendly alternative to driving not only benefits individual health but also contributes to the overall well-being of the planet. By fostering partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community groups, Lisa seeks to create initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles and make cycling accessible to everyone.

Lisa’s dedication to cycling extends beyond just organizing events; she actively engages with participants, listens to their stories, and works collaboratively to address the challenges faced by cyclists in Los Angeles. She envisions a future where LACM not only serves as a monthly celebration of cycling culture but also as a platform for dialogue and advocacy that brings about meaningful change in the community.

Through her tireless efforts, Lisa Lundie continues to inspire others to embrace cycling as a way of life, connecting diverse communities across Los Angeles and fostering a spirit of inclusivity, safety, sustainability, and mental wellness.

Lisa is currently riding a KHS Road bike, and a KHS Tempe XC mountain bike. She is training for this upcoming summer to ride SoCal's Los Angeles mountains steep singletrack trails and fire roads for our upcoming #bikepacking adventures.

JoJo Valdez

Vice President

Jojo is a seasoned technology executive, developer, and community leader with a career spanning over two decades. He has collaborated with several of Southern California's leading corporate companies, including Informa Research, EA Mobile, and MySpace during its peak popularity. As a former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a corporate media company in West Los Angeles, Jojo leveraged his expertise in web applications, software development, business strategy, and media innovation to drive organizational success. His technical acumen, supported by a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, has established him as a leader in business and web development, as well as media and marketing initiatives.

Jojo’s technical expertise extends into the creative domain, where he has contributed to projects involving VST Plugins and Reason Studio Rack Extensions. These achievements highlight his ability to seamlessly merge technology with music production, showcasing his innovative mindset and passion for integrating creativity with cutting-edge technology.

Since 2008, Jojo has been a vital member of Los Angeles Critical Mass, starting as a ride marshal and quickly rising to become Executive Vice President of the organization. His dedication to the local community and his passion for promoting cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation and a tool for fostering connections have made him an indispensable figure in the cycling movement. Jojo’s corporate executive experience and technical expertise have played a significant role in enhancing the growth and visibility of Los Angeles Critical Mass, helping to cultivate a stronger cycling culture across the city.

In addition to leading Los Angeles Critical Mass, Jojo plays a key role with KHS Bicycles/ KHS PRO MTB, one of the country’s leading mountain bike racing teams. He serves as their full stack developer, designer, and video editor, handling all web-related tasks. As a passionate cyclist, he rides the KHS Team 29, KHS Team 29 FS XC #MTB, and the KHS 6600 Enduro #MTB across the challenging trails of the SoCal Los Angeles mountains. Jojo’s passion for cycling extends beyond the trails; he is also a talented songwriter and coder, blending his creative and technical skills to enrich his contributions to both the cycling community and the arts.

Jojo’s unique blend of professional experience, technical expertise, and creative abilities continues to drive his impact across industries and communities, solidifying his reputation as a dynamic leader, innovator, and creator.

Peter Kim

Lead Safety and Backend Support Vehicle

Peter has been actively involved with Los Angeles Critical Mass since the mid-2000s. He started as a Ride Marshal alongside his twin brother before transitioning to the role of lead backend support vehicle.

In this position, Peter plays a vital role in ensuring safety and smooth operations at the rear of the ride. His responsibilities include monitoring the event to manage safety and respond to emergencies, while also providing logistical support. He facilitates communication between cyclists, ride marshals, and local authorities to coordinate actions and effectively manage traffic. Additionally, Peter assists cyclists with mechanical issues and engages with participants to enhance their overall experience.

Originally from Koreatown Los Angeles, Peter has a Bachelor in Recreation and Tourism and plans to become a peace office in the city of Los Angeles. He is currently a public safety officer in the city of Los Angeles.

Napolean

Community Liaison Coordinator

Napoleon has been a veteran of Los Angeles Critical Mass (LACM) since 1997 while actively engaging with local communities as a cyclist. Initially recognized as one of the lead Ride Marshals, he is well-known in cycling circles throughout Southern California.

As our Community Liaison Coordinator for LACM, he is vital in building and maintaining relationships between our cycling communities in southern California.

His position involves engaging with local organizations, businesses, and cyclists to promote the objectives of LACM, which include advocating for cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation and fostering a sense of community among cyclists. Napo organizes outreach efforts, communicates essential LACM monthly event information, and gathers participant feedback to improve future rides. By acting as a bridge between LACM and the broader community, he helps ensure that the voices of our cyclists are heard and that we remain responsive to the concerns of our participants and the public. His role is essential for enhancing community engagement.

His competitive cycling journey began in 1993 as a racer, alongside his work as a bike mechanic. He currently trains youth in track and road cycling, fostering their involvement in cycling communities. He aims to steer them away from gangs and encourage productive participation in their neighborhoods.

Graduating as a certified Micro Computer Technology Specialist, Napoleon brings valuable skills and leadership to the community.

He is currently focused on competing in the Race Across America event before retiring from competitive cycling.

Judith Alonso

Ride Marshal/ Volunteer

Judith Alonso is a passionate philanthropist, devout cyclist, volunteer, and ride marshal at Los Angeles Critical Mass, where she helps foster community connection and promote cycling culture throughout the city. With a diverse professional background, Judith began her career as a television and movie scriptwriter in the entertainment industry, crafting compelling narratives for film and media. She later transitioned into marketing, working with prominent corporate and marketing agencies to create impactful campaigns.

Her dedication to service led her to a leadership role in marketing at the Union Rescue Mission, where she played a vital role in supporting initiatives aimed at uplifting underserved communities. With her success in marketing, Judith also dealt with public relations, where she worked closely with clients, seeking families for the mission's monthly magazine and short videos that shared powerful stories from Skid Row. Her efforts not only provided resources and support to those in need but also raised awareness about the challenges faced by the community.

Judith is also actively involved with PIHOP (Pasadena International House of Prayer), a renowned ministry in Pasadena, CA, where she contributes to its mission of spiritual growth and outreach. Now, as part of Los Angeles Critical Mass, she combines her creative and professional experience with her love for community engagement, making her an invaluable part of LACM's mission to connect and inspire people.

Through her multifaceted efforts, Judith Alonso exemplifies the spirit of philanthropy and community service, using her skills and passion to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Logan Binggeli

Chairman of the board

Logan Binggeli is a globally renowned mountain biking racer, celebrated as one of the fastest downhill competitors in the sport. His expertise spans across downhill, enduro, and cross-country (XC) mountain biking, making him a versatile and influential figure in the biking world. Logan’s professional journey began at the age of 19 when he joined KHS Bicycles, a milestone that propelled him to international recognition. Now holding an executive position within the company, Logan plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of KHS, leveraging his racing experience and industry knowledge to drive innovation and excellence.

In addition to his executive role, Logan is actively involved in the design and development of KHS mountain bikes, ensuring they are engineered as high-performance machines suited for the demands of elite riders. His contributions have transformed KHS bikes into cutting-edge equipment, setting new benchmarks in downhill, enduro, and XC racing. Logan also leads the KHS Pro MTB mountain bike race team, where his leadership and expertise inspire riders to push boundaries and achieve greatness. As a mentor, he dedicates himself to nurturing the next generation of athletes, sharing his knowledge and passion for the sport.

Beyond his racing and professional achievements, Logan’s commitment to the biking community is unwavering. A graduate from the state of Utah, he serves as the Chairman of the Board for the largest community bicycle ride in the United States, further solidifying his reputation as a respected leader in the industry. Logan’s passion, innovation, and leadership continue to shape the evolution of mountain biking, earning him recognition as one of the sport’s most influential figures.

Dr. Karla Brown

Board member

Meet Dr. Karla, a dedicated Wellness Coach and Coordinator with a profound passion for guiding individuals on their personal wellness journeys. She focuses on helping children, adults, and families recognize their potential as healthy beings, fostering strong relationships and a sense of belonging through community connections. Dr. Karla is a staunch advocate for creating therapeutic spaces within homes and environments, encouraging physical involvement in activities like LACM to help individuals feel peaceful, complete, balanced, whole, and safe.

Dr. Karla holds a Bachelor's degree in Communicative Studies, as well as two Master's degrees—one in Instructional Leadership and Curriculum and another in School Psychology. She earned her Doctorate in Psychology and has dedicated nearly 35 years to serving a local school district in various roles, including Teacher, School Counselor, Child Welfare Advisor, and Behavioral Health Consultant in private practice.

John Lockmer

Board member

John Lockmer is an award-winning filmmaker, marketing strategist, and nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in digital media, brand marketing, and fundraising. Known for his creative expertise and strategic vision, John has successfully led multimillion-dollar marketing campaigns, cultivated high-profile partnerships, and developed innovative storytelling strategies that drive engagement and revenue growth. His work has earned him accolades in filmmaking, including awards for his short films, as well as opportunities to direct projects featuring some of today’s top actors and actresses.

In addition to his accomplishments in filmmaking, John has made significant contributions to nonprofit leadership. His experience includes enhancing donor relations, leading strategic communications, and managing large-scale events for organizations such as the Union Rescue Mission. John’s expertise spans content marketing, programmatic advertising, and data-driven decision-making, all of which have helped elevate the impact and success of the organizations he serves.

John holds a Master’s degree in Executive Leadership for Nonprofits, a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, and an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. He is deeply passionate about using storytelling to inspire positive change and is dedicated to supporting mission-driven organizations that align with his values. When time allows, John enjoys riding his KHS XC mountain bike, proudly riding a KHS Zaca to stay connected with the outdoors and the sport he loves.

Serena Valdez is a passionate Event Journalist and a full-time student, where she is pursuing a degree in Communications. With many years of experience covering a diverse range of events—from local festivals to major national conferences—Serena has developed a keen eye for detail and a knack for storytelling. Based in Beverly Grove, she captures the essence of each event she attends, highlighting not only key moments but also the cultural significance and community impact.

An avid cyclists, she rides singletrack on an enduro KHS 7500 #MTB and a KHS Tucson #MTB in the local socal Los Angeles mountains.

Christina Emmanual

Having studied Business Administration and Entrepreneurship at Santa Monica, she has become an expert in her field as a business owner while nurturing a lifelong passion for biking. Growing up in Los Angeles, she created unforgettable memories riding with her grandfather and family, tackling 40-mile rides to Palos Verdes and savoring churros at the Santa Monica Pier. Now, as a mother of four, she has rediscovered that youthful excitement through LA Critical Mass. This community has reignited her love for cycling and helped her reconnect with the vibrant essence of her city. She’s thrilled to support their mission of fostering community, one ride at a time.
