Long Beach → San Diego Endurance Rhythm Ride

This 118‑mile Endurance Rhythm Ride brings music, flow, and community energy from Long Beach to San Diego. The route is about 75% flat with multiple regroup points and a big lunch stop in Oceanside to recharge. Support vehicles stay at the back for full safety. We finish with a free, all‑you‑can‑eat barbecue in San Diego, courtesy of LA Critical Mass — the perfect reward after an unforgettable ride.

We encourage everyone to attend this ride. If you ride LA Critical Mass and can complete the longer LACM routes, you can do this too. This is not a race — it’s a steady 15- 20 mph endurance rhythm ride designed for flow, consistency, and community. The goal is to enjoy the journey, ride together, and experience the full coast‑to‑coast energy of this special event.

Endurance Rhythm Ride 2026

Honoring Napoleon — “Napo / Napo on the Go”

Saturday, June 6th, 2026
Meet 9:00 AM | Roll 10:00 AM

This special long‑distance ride is hosted by LA Critical Mass in celebration of Napoleon, known throughout the community as Napo or Napo on the Go. Napoleon is also a proud LA Critical Mass team member, and this ride honors his dedication, consistency, and the energy he brings to the cycling community.

This is an intermediate‑level endurance rhythm ride, covering approximately 118 miles at a steady 15–20 mph pace. This is not a race — it’s a smooth, music‑driven cadence ride designed to help riders build and strengthen their endurance.

Start Location

Long Beach Aquarium / Bubba Gump Shrimp area
Paid parking is available for all participants.

Route, Terrain & Pace

We will ride from Long Beach down the coast, finishing at Ocean Front in Downtown San Diego.

  • Pace: 15–20 mph
  • Difficulty: Intermediate
  • Ride Style: Endurance rhythm ride — pedal to the beat, hold your cadence, stay in flow
  • Total Distance: 118 miles
  • Terrain: Approximately 75% flat
  • Ride Breaks: Minimum of 4 breaks throughout the route

Two Ride Groups

There will be two groups for this ride. The first group at the front will be for faster‑paced riders, and the second group in the back will be for slower, moderate riders. Each group will have its own support vehicles to ensure safety, coverage, and a smooth experience for every rider.

WE WILL ALWAYS MEET UP AT THE BREAK TIME AREAS WHILE STAYING TOGETHER.

Main Break & Lunch — Oceanside

Our main break and lunch stop will be in Oceanside. This is the longest rest period of the ride — time to eat, hydrate, stretch, and reset before the final push into San Diego. We will be providing lunch for all riders. This includes sandwiches, chips, juice, sodas, sparkling water, and more to make sure everyone is fully refueled and ready to continue. Chargel energy gel packs will also be provided! We love our sponsor Chargel!

Support Vehicles (2 Total — Positioned at the Back)

Two support vehicles will follow at the back of the ride for maximum safety and visibility.

Included support:

  • Water
  • Sparkling water
  • Sodas
  • Snacks
  • Bike trailer for tired riders or mechanical issues

No rider is left behind.

Transit Access Along the Route

Our ride route will pass near multiple train stations, giving riders the option to head back if needed at any point. The ending destination in San Diego also provides convenient access to Train and Amtrak services for those returning to Los Angeles after the ride.

Repair Station & Tubes Available

We will have:

  • A mobile repair station
  • Spare tubes
  • Basic tools
  • On‑route mechanical support

Ride Rules & Regulations

Full rules and regulations will be provided before rollout. Safety is our main priority.

Free Barbecue After the Ride

At the finish in San Diego, there will be a free barbecue for all participants. Eat as much as you want — all food is provided free by LA Critical Mass as a celebration of the journey and in honor of Napo.

Return Options: Train & Amtrak

For riders returning to Los Angeles after the ride, Train and Amtrak services will be available from San Diego.

Overnight Option

Riders also have the option to stay the night in San Diego and head back the following morning. Train and Amtrak services — including connections from the Pacific Surfliner to Metrolink — make next‑day travel simple and convenient.

Free & Open to Everyone

This ride is completely free. All are welcome to join, celebrate Napo, build endurance, and enjoy the journey together.
