On October 31st, 2025, Los Angeles Critical Mass will begin its monthly ride with a powerful act of community care.
Before the city’s Halloween dance party kicks off in Hollywood, thousands of cyclists and participants—many in costume—will ride to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in formal collaboration with hospital staff, bringing joy, visibility, and solidarity to children who need it most.
This is more than a ride. It’s a citywide wave of love.

First Stop: Children’s Hospital
In collaboration with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
The ride will launch from Koreatown and head directly to the hospital, where thousands of participants will gather in front of the building—some in costume, all waving with purpose. This location has been pre-arranged with hospital staff to ensure maximum visibility for the children and families inside.
Children’s Hospital will ensure that many of the children—across multiple floors—are safely escorted to the windows facing our gathering point. Though participants won’t be able to see in, the children will see everything: a sea of cyclists and participants waving, smiling, and showing up just for them.
Many of these children are seriously ill. Some are undergoing long-term treatment. Others are in critical care. For them, this moment is a break from isolation—a reminder that they are seen, celebrated, and loved.

Critical Mass President Lisa will be in live communication with the Children’s Hospital throughout the approach. She’ll notify them when the ride is close so children and families can be ready at the windows. The timing is precise. As we arrive, the windows will fill with faces—children waving, holding signs, and soaking in the energy of the city outside.
Parents and caregivers will be right there at the windows, holding their children close as the scene unfolds outside. For many, it will be the first time in days—or even weeks—that they witness a genuine smile on their child’s face. The costumes, the music, the sheer volume of participants flooding the street with love—it’s not just overwhelming. It’s unforgettable.
Participants are asked to wave high, smile wide, and ride with intention. Whether in costume or not, every gesture matters. The goal is simple: make the children feel part of something bigger than their hospital room with the positive energy and party on wheels of Los Angeles Critical Mass.
Some will bring signs. Others will play music. A few will perform small dances or gestures. The goal is joy—pure and shared.
This isn’t just a visit. It’s a tradition of connection, made possible through collaboration, care, and community.

Costumes with Purpose
This month’s theme is costumes, and the streets will be alive with superheroes, animals, aliens, and dancing skeletons. The visual impact—whether you’re in costume or not—is designed to spark joy and wonder for the kids watching from above.
But this year, costumes aren’t just for the children—they’re also for the contest.
At the main break, participants will compete in the official Halloween Costume Contest at this month’s Hollywood Halloween Dance Party. DJ Vicious Lee and Critical Mass Staff will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners based on creativity, impact, and crowd response. Winners will receive hefty gift cards and bragging rights for the rest of the year.
So come dressed to impress—for the kids, for the contest, and for the spirit of the ride.
Ride with intention: This isn’t just a stop—it’s the emotional heart of the night.
After the Hospital: Hollywood Halloween Dance Party
Once the hospital visit concludes, the ride will continue toward Hollywood for the annual Halloween dance party. Costumes, music, and celebration will follow—but the spirit of the night will have already been defined.
This month, the joy begins not with a beat, but with a wave.
